AHAS

THE SKIN’S RADIANCE REVEALER

Alpha Hydroxy Acids are a group of naturally occurring acids, often derived from fruits and milk. Here’s why they deserve a spot in your skincare routine:

  • Exfoliation Expert: AHAs gently exfoliate the skin’s surface, removing dead cells and promoting cell turnover for a smoother complexion.
  • Brightens and Evens: They help fade dark spots, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone, revealing a more radiant complexion.
  • Hydration Helper: AHAs can improve moisture retention, leaving your skin plump and hydrated.
  • Fine Line Fighter: Regular use of AHAs can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, giving your skin a youthful boost.

INCORPORATING AHAS INTO YOUR ROUTINE:

Better to use PM but not required as long as you are diligent with SPF

  • Apply your AHA-infused product after cleansing and toning but before moisturizers or other serums.
  • Start slowly – 1-2x/week and increase usage as tolerated
  • Sunscreen Is Essential: AHAs can make your skin more sensitive to the sun, so sunscreen during the day is a non-negotiable.

What Not to Mix with AHAs:

While AHAs are fantastic for your skin, they can interact negatively with certain ingredients. Avoid / use caution when combining AHAs with:

– Retinoids: The combination can be too harsh on your skin and cause irritation. If you want to use both, alternate them on different days.

– Other Exfoliants: Using multiple exfoliants like AHAs and BHAs simultaneously can lead to over-exfoliation and sensitivity. It’s best to use them on separate days.

– Vitamin C: High concentrations of vitamin C and AHAs together can be irritating to some skin types. If you want to use both, consider applying them at different times of the day.
